How to setup a basic fivem server?

In this article we will explain how to setup a fivem server. This covers basic setup.

Step 1, starting up the server:

Start the server. Click on the start button at the top of the page. You will see something like this.

Step 2, configuring tx admin:

You have 2 options. Click on the http://89 link in the console or press the tx admin button located next to the power buttons. After clicking one of those you will see this page.

Enter the pin in the console. In this case 4468. It will ask for a password so you can login. Fill in a password and press next. After that you will come to this page. We will go over each step.

1. This will be the servername. Fill in what your server name is.

2. Deployment type, you'll have 4 options:

  1. Populair recipes, here you can choose out of popular framework's for a fivem server.
  2. Existing server data, this is the recommended one for setting it up. If you choose this option your 'Base folder' is a dot, literally '.'
  3. Remote URL template, if you want to clone from a recipe.
  4. Custom template, not recommended for server owner's that don't have deep knowledge

3. server.cfg file location, is where the server.cfg file is located. If you choose existing server data it should automatically see the server.cfg no changes needed

4. Finish! Just press 'Save & start server'

Step 3, testing the setup:

To test if everything works try to connect via f8:
- Open your fivem
- Press f8
- enter 'connect gnode1.gamestarhosting.com:<your primary port>'. Where you replace '<your primary port>' with your own primary port which you can find on your network tab.
